I’m gonna cheat a little on this one and do groups of friends, kinda, because I have a ton of tiny groups of really close friends that aren’t necessarily all friends.
1. Lydia, Corinne, Gwyneth
So, Lydia and Corinne are literally two of my oldest friends. I met Corinne on the playground in kindergarten, and Lydia was just that girl who came up to me in second grade and knew all this crap about me. Gwyneth just moved here this year, but we clicked pretty well to start. I loves them all! :D
2. Molly, Meghan, Holly, Michi, Cody, Anna, Michael
So I guess Anna doesn’t really fit in this group, but this is the best place for her. She lives a town over, so I don’t get to see her very much. I became friends with Molly, Holly, and Michi in seventh grade, and they were all awesome. Meghan just transferred here, and we started talking because 1. she was reading one of my favorite books and 2. she went to elementary school with my Evil Ex, Ansel. Cody just transferred here too, and I met him through Michi and Molly. Michael I also met through Molly and Michi and Holly. We’re all pretty tight. Gwyneth fits in this group too.
Ahhh, my drama camp “family.” I love them all so much…Even Ansel, despite how much he hurt me. Ryan is practically my twin brother…We’ve gotten each other through so much, and we haven’t even been friends for a year. Cassidy’s been like my brother for years now. Cristy is just badass. She looks and seems so innocent when you first meet her, but she is literally the definition of badass. Kelsey is the girly one. Jess is the one with all the awesome hats. Ansel is the Ego, and Troy is the Talent.
4. Tabitha and Miranda
My British sisters. Two of the greatest people I’ll ever meet. I love them so much. I can’t even explain how much the two of them mean to me.
5. Miles, Andriy, Sarah
Some of my oldest friends. They all moved away, but we’re working on getting together this summer. I literally cannot wait.
I feel awful leaving out some people!!! Even narrowing it down to five groups of friends, this was so hard…
I hate stereotyping. I think it’s completely ridiculous. I mean, just because I’m blonde doesn’t mean I’m stupid, and just because I dye my hair and wear black eye makeup doesn’t mean I’m depressed or emo or cut myself or do pot (and various other drugs). I wear button ups and skinny jeans and beanies and converse, but I’m not a jerk wad hipster. (Okay, maybe I am a bit of a hipster, but still.) And I like clothes, but that doesn’t make me a prep. DAMNIT whoever the idiots are who created these damned things need a good slapping.

And basically, I don’t use the phrase “perfect human being” very often, but Libba is getting very close.
She was incredibly nice and quirky and hilarious, but what I love most is that she mentioned how very lacking YA literature is in racial/cultural diversity. I nearly burst into tears of joy. The panel was talking about the “renaissance” in YA fiction and everyone was going on about how many great books have been released lately and e-books and such, and Libba agreed with it all, but added that “I think the only thing we need more of, although we have made some strides, is diversity.” (Or something to that effect.)
Honey, I love you. You’re one of my closest friends. And I’m sick of watching you get hurt.
You fell for him. I get that. I did it once to, with someone too much like him, and you refuse to see it. I can’t say this to your face because I know it will hurt you more and you won’t listen, but I can’t watch you do this to yourself anymore.
The boy is dangerous. I can see it. I understand the humour in what you see him doing, I guess, but it’s wrong. And couldn’t you notice that he spends all his time in bed, doing nothing, wallowing in self-pity? I understand he has problems, I get it, but he won’t do anything about it. That’s why I compared him to the guy I fell for. Who did this to me.
I can almost guarantee to you that he’ll hurt you if you meet him. Not necessarily physically, but maybe another way. And he’ll leave you for no reason. Again.
I don’t know if you’ll listen to me, but I hope you do. And if you don’t, at least be careful and hope that it hurts less.
I love you like a sister. You mean the world to me. So that is why I wrote this for you.
